Kai Heeringa Photography

Photobucket

This past fall we had the pleasure of working with Grand Rapids based, husband and wife team Kai and Kayley Heeringa of Kia Heeringa Photography. For over four years the duo have been photographing together from Northern Michigan to Scotland and everywhere in-between!

Wedding days seem to go so quickly for all of those involved and it is important to capture the people and details for our clients and Kai and Kayley are just the people to do so. They love to show their clients a perspective of their weddings that they themselves were not able to see until well after the last candle is blown out.

Providing their clients with images that are unique and true to their event they make their photography interesting to everyone viewing it, not just to those who know the subjects.

Before we take a look at McKenzi and Rob's wedding from this past fall here are a few of my favorites from Kai and Kayley...

Thanks Kai and Kayley for sharing your talents with all of us! Make sure to check out their blog here for their most current work!

Gwyneth Paige | Couture Letterpress

Photobucket

As you all know by now I am a huge stationery fan and letterpress makes me weak at the knees. It is an honor and a privilege to introduce Gwyneth Paige Couture Letterpress based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Liverpool, New York founded by my dearest friend Jodi Bos of In Any Event, Jillian Telman of In Any Event and Andrea Reynolds.

A passion for all things lovely, this dynamic trio is designing and creating beautiful and unique letterpress wedding and correspondence stationery that should be on every bride's "must have" list. With its scheduled debut at the National Stationery Show this May, Gwyneth Paige's commitment to 100% Cotton, tree-free and simply luxurious 220# paper, over 30 color-perfect inks and their one-of-a-kind design aesthetic is poised to be a hit and success.

There are twelve couture wedding stationery suites that are available with oodles of customizable options within each suite. Below is one of my personal favorite suites, Claire, and more images from the talented Jen Kroll Photography...

For samples and more information on Gwyneth Paige visit their website. Congratulations Jodi, Jilly and Andrea and we wish you all the success in the coming years with Gwyneth Paige and can't wait to see more of your beautiful paper creations!

InFrame Bride Magazine | Creative Bride Contest

Photobucket

We here at A Day in May, Event Planning & Design are thrilled to be a judge for InFrame Bride Magazine's "She's Got It! Most Creative Bride Contest."

InFrame Bride Magazine is looking for the most creative wedding ideas. The rules are simple: you submit creative wedding ideas, encourage your family and friends to vote for your entry in the first round, and in the second round the judges (that's us!) select the best. There are virtually no limitations on the types of ideas that can be submitted—ideas may relate to favors, locations, honeymoons, themes, bridesmaid or groomsmen gifts, food or anything else you can come up with. The ideas simply have to somehow relate to a wedding.

There will be 3 contest winners... Photo Shoot: Abby Rose Photo & chance to be on the next cover of InFrame Bride; Weekend getaway: Grand Traverse Resort & Spa; Makeover: Design 1 Salon & Spa

Be sure to visit the contest site for more details and to submit your creative wedding ideas! Good luck!!

Cory Weber Photography

We work with so many fabulous vendors each year and today I wanted to share with you one of our favorite local Northern Michigan photographers- Cory Weber of Cory Weber Photography.

Last August, Cory and I worked together for the first time at Kate and Brian's wedding (coming up on the blog this week). After a few exchanged words I knew he was going to be a great source of creativity and inspiration (not to mention friend) in the industry!

Cory's artistic eye and unique approach to photography allows him to capture life's most intimate moments in an unobtrusive way leaving you wanting more. He has a true gift for wedding photography and I'm thrilled to show you some of my favorites from his past clients...

Be sure and watch for more of Cory's work featured on the A Day in May Blog! Thank you Cory for sharing your talent with us. Stay tuned for Cory Weber Photography and A Day in May, Event Planning & Design's first collaborative wedding together- Kate and Brian, coming up on the blog!
